Multiple Brain Abcess

A brain abcess is a focal suppurative process in the brain parenchyma, complicating paranasal sinusitis, otitis media, cranial trauma, or bacterimia from an extracranial focus of infection. It remains a significant health care problem in deveoping countries, with mortality rates up to 21%. The advent of modern antibiotics agents and diagnostic imaging techniques has resulted in dramatic improvements in morbidity and mortality in brain abcess. This is a case report of a male, age 56 years admitted to the Adam Malik hospital with complaint of headache. From neurologic examination we found the left hemiparesis and left seventh and twelfth nerve paralysis UMN type. Head CT Scan showed suspect multiple brain abcess. The patient was diagnosed as having multiple brain abcess and reveived conservative therapy.
